Safeguarding
Safeguarding policy
National Rising Scholars is committed to helping children learn in a safe, respectful and supportive environment.
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Our commitment
We believe every child has the right to be safe from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation. We expect everyone involved in our services to behave professionally, respectfully and in the best interests of children and young people.
Scope
This policy applies to tuition, homeschooling support, university application support, online lessons, face-to-face lessons, calls, messages and any other contact arranged through National Rising Scholars.
Safeguarding contact
Safeguarding concerns should be reported to hello@nationalrisingscholars.com. If a child is in immediate danger, call emergency services on 999.
How we handle concerns
- We listen carefully and take concerns seriously.
- We record relevant facts as clearly as possible.
- We share information only with people who need to know, unless a child or other person may be at risk.
- Where appropriate, we may contact parents, guardians, local authority children's services, police or other safeguarding professionals.
Online lesson safety
Online lessons should take place in an appropriate environment. Parents or guardians should make sure the student is safe and supervised in a way that is suitable for the child's age and needs.
Behaviour expectations
Students, parents, tutors and staff must communicate respectfully. We may stop or cancel a session if behaviour becomes unsafe, inappropriate, abusive, discriminatory or prevents effective learning.
Recruitment and suitability
Anyone providing education support should be suitable for the role, understand safeguarding expectations and act within professional boundaries. Where required, checks, references or further suitability steps should be completed before working with children.
Data protection
Safeguarding records are handled carefully and shared only where appropriate. More information is available in our Privacy Policy.
